With incredible line accuracy, an 80GB hard drive, on-board support for HP-GL/2 and HP-RTL files, the iPF720 is the premier printing solution for any professional with a need for printing complex full-color renderings, CAD drawings, GIS maps and other large-format graphics quickly, effortlessly, and with remarkable detail. The included PosterArtist Lite poster creation software gives the user the ability to easily and quickly create professional large format prints.

The advanced features of the imagePROGRAF iPF720 allows for enhanced productivity in the most demanding environments. Its built-in 80GB hard drive relieves the workload from your computer while providing a large capacity for print job data storage and retrieval. The printer is capable of handling multiple numbers of complex jobs simultaneously, making it a perfect fit for shared printer environments. Combined with the iPF720's precision, speed, and quality, it is an ideal model for professionals requiring efficient workflows and printing solutions.

In addition, the imagePROGRAF iPF720 features a Reactive Ink system consisting of four highly colorfast dye inks (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) plus two channels of pigment-based Matte Black for the many different types of large format printing jobs . This Reactive Ink technology minimizes bleeding between colors so small text printed on colored backgrounds is extremely crisp and clearly legible. The four-color dye ink system provides bold color images on variety of substrates. The Canon Dye inks produce colors that will make posters and graphics stand out in any environment.

 

  • Built-in 80GB Hard Drive

     

    A built-in 80GB hard drive within the iPF720 increases productivity by relieving workload from the host PC while providing a large capacity for print job data storage, and retrieval. This 80GB hard drive enables job data to be stored in protected mail boxes for easy access via web browser or at the printer for job re-printing. The embedded hard disk is ideal for medium to large workgroups to share a printer efficiently with multiple users, offering ample job storage space.

     

     

  • New PosterArtist Lite

     

    Canon's PosterArtist Lite, standard with the printer, gives users the ability to quickly and easily create professional large format prints. Users simply follow the programs four easy steps to create posters that can be used in applications such as Office Presentation, Trade Shows, Retail Signage and much more. The PosterArtist QuickCopy feature provides easy solution for CanoScan desktop scanner to be used as a copier making a letter-size flyer and documents into a full-size poster with the touch of a button. The built-in weblink feature in PosterArtist Lite links users directly to the PosterArtist website for useful hints and tips, and free contents for download. For those with more demanding poster creation needs, Canon's optional PosterArtist 2007 offers advanced features such as Auto Design, Variable Data, in-application image editing features, as well as additional templates, royalty-free photos and clip art.


  • Reactive Ink Technology

     

    Ideal for technical applications, Canon's breakthrough 5-color dye/pigment Reactive Ink technology utilizes four highly colorfast dye inks for producing bold, expressive color, plus two channels of matte black ink for printing precise lines, smooth curves and small text on technical and office documents. These Canon inks provide superior adhesion to media, scratch and marker resistance and ensure minimal "bleeding" between colors and text. Even small text printed on colored backgrounds or on uncoated technical papers is crisp and legible.

     

  • High Density Print Head PF-03

     

    Engineered for speed and advanced image production, the iPF720 boasts Canon's latest print-head technology to lay down ink with unprecedented speed and accuracy. The iPF720 uses a high-precision, high-density print head with a total of 15,360 nozzles to lay down 4 picoliter-size ink droplets that produce sharp detail and excellent image quality. The superfine 4 picoliter-size droplets produce delicate color gradations and high-definition. The twin lines of nozzles on the print head enable the iPF720 to minimize the number of printing passes and still maintain print quality. More nozzles mean more ink is ejected with every pass of the print head, no matter what print mode or media.
     

  • Printer Driver

     

    This Windows® and Macintosh® drivers incorporate simplified page setup options, one-touch borderless printing, expanded color settings, and much more into a printer driver that is intuitive and easy to operate while still giving even the most advanced users the tools needed to stay productive.

    The Real Preview feature lets users ensure that the print setting and the layout on the roll paper is correct by providing real time preview, allowing users to change the print setting even after clicking on "print". The Free Layout feature enables nesting and custom layouts of images or files of nearly any type (available for both Windows and Mac driver). The imageRUNNER Enlargement Copy feature built-in to the printer driver lets users transfer data from their Color imageRUNNER device with Universal Send to the imagePROGRAF printer - all with the touch of a button - enabling users to easily create posters from hard copy documents. In addition, the new Economy Print Mode produces draft prints on plain paper while reducing the total ink consumption. This new feature regulates the use of each ink tank to produce high-speed output with significantly less ink usage.

  • HDI Driver

     

    With the Canon HDI Driver for AutoCAD application, the driver creates a vector graphical representation of the printed data. Here points are defined and a curved line is calculated mathematically in order to achieve precision. The HDI Driver creates a graphically accurate drawing of the printed data.

  • L-COA Processor

    Canon's L-COA (Large Format Printer COmmon Architecture) print controller is the "brain" that powers the printers' data. This unique, high-speed processor drives the print engine to lay ink down with high precision and helps ensure optimal image quality and color accuracy. This processor enables the print system to process large volumes of data while optimizing output of complex high-color GIS images and architectural renderings for maximum readability and color accuracy.

 

  • PosterArtist 2007 (Optional)

    This template driven software was developed by Canon specifically to create large format posters easily and quickly. PosterArtist helps users of all levels create professional-looking posters, banners and signage in four easy steps. This application offers a variety of templates, hi-res royalty-free images and clip-art designed to target a wide array of markets such as food service, education, retail, offices and much more.

    PosterArtist 2007 provides the Auto Design feature in which the users can simply designate a few images to be incorporated in a poster and PosterArtist will automatically create professional-looking posters for immediate use. Additionally, the template filtering feature allows users to find and apply a template quickly and easily from hundreds of templates in the library.
