Leading Scanner Manufacturer
Awards Arizona Dealer!
Contex, the leading manufacturer of wide-format color and monochrome scanners and expert developer of advanced scanning and copying software, recently awarded AZ Overland Blueprint as an Authorized Dealer for all Contex Products. Becoming an Authorized Dealer is very exciting for our small shop; and it will benefit our customers in various ways. First, it allows us to up-grade to a top-of-the-line Color scanner at an affordable price; therefore, enabling us to offer excellent quality large format color copies at competitive prices. Adding this service allows us to be more self-sufficient, one shop for all your reprographic needs, and eliminates problems that we had in the past, which will speed up the process and enhance the quality of service that we offer to our clientele. Next, we're able to sell, lease or rent any unit from the extensive line of equipment that Contex offers (more
than 20 available models + extensive software) at very reasonable prices. For those that have an in-house plotter, we now have a solution for connecting it with a scanner to enable it to work as a copier, too.
Contex scanners digitally capture documents, drawings and other input in order to view, edit, archive, convert, file or print the output data for various applications and jobs. Contex scanners also make the perfect wide-format digital copiers by linking a Contex scanner to a large-format printer (or plotter). This solution makes copying of especially medium and small series more versatile and cost efficient than traditional printing methods. Companies requiring in-house copying of drawings, posters etc. benefit from the Contex copy solution.
A year ago, during the summer of 2002, Contex Holding A/S, acquired Vidar Systems Corporation, Inc., to create the worlds leading scanning technology company. Today Contex controls approximately 85% of the large format scanner market.
To introduce us, representatives from Contex will be flying in to put on a Seminar Series featuring large format color scanning and copying. If your interested in attending call for reservations, as space is limited. Attendees will be encouraged to bring in originals to be run, have questions answered by the fine people of Contex, and more.

How's the Economy?
Here’s our spin on what’s going on in the local economy based on what we hear and see in our small business, of which a strong percentage of our customers consist of those in the construction related industry.
We are sensing a plethora of cautious optimism. More and more seem to feel that things are getting better, despite a summer lull, and work seems to be increasing. Overall we are continuing to gain optimism.

For the Riddler?
One of our drivers was going against traffic to make a delivery in downtown Phoenix. He went past a stop sign without stopping, he turned left where there was a "no left turn" sign, and he did this in front of a police car.
Why didn't the Officer, who saw all of this, write him a ticket?

Occasionally we get requests that are a little out of the ordinary. If we're confident that we'll be successful in meeting expectations, we gladly accept the task and enjoy the diversity and challenge. A while back we received the question from a caller, "Can you deliver a package to Jay Bell at the Ball Park?" We did get into BOB and delivered it, but were unsuccessful in getting a signature from the professional baseball player, himself.
An Architect, busy with out-of-office appointments, mistakenly leaves a briefcase behind. Yes, we were able to get it to the next meeting.
Apparently, we were found under "Messenger Service", and asked to: "go to Johnny's house, bang on the door until he wakes-up, and give him this message; "Get-up and go to work!"
Most recently, we were asked by one, to deliver flyers to all the homes in a new home subdivision, and from someone else, to deliver flyers to all the units in an apartment complex. Our Courier (whom volunteered), a transplant from Boston, quickly learned about the necessity of bringing water, and we also realized that it's best to deliver flyers very early in the morning, which works well for us since some of our semi-retired drivers are early risers.
As you can see, if it needs to be delivered, we can handle it!

Is This Junk Mail?
I look forward to receiving mail, mostly because in and amongst it is money, and I do like to get paid! Sometimes pieces of mail bring about opportunity, and that is also good! Almost always, with the good, comes the not so good, junk mail! Fax machines have provided an alternative means to receive junk, and costs the sender less. Now, with the rise of email, as the cost to the sender is negligible, there is even more junk, some of which is nonsensically offensive!
Since I am always looking for opportunity, I admittedly go through the printed junk, and since I have the fear of virus attacks, I dump the unfamiliar emails.
So why than do we put out "Arizona Overland Expressions" our quarterly newsletter, which for some, may be perceived as junk? Our Newsletter is fundamentally a marketing piece, created to fill a request from customers; to provide information pertaining to what's happening in the industry, give input as to how things trend, offer useful pointers to make things easier, and to showcase the products and services that we offer. We are open to suggestions and would be happy to feature any new ideas. If you're interested in discussing the results of, or are considering starting your own, we'd be happy to assist. We hope that our newsletters offer value in information and thought provoking opportunity, and are not perceived as junk mail.

You Must Be Joking!
A driver pulled over by a police officer for speeding. As the officer was writing the ticket, she noticed several machetes in the car.
"What are those for?" she asked suspiciously.
"I'm a juggler," the driver replied. "I use those in my act."
The officer wanting to be sure so she asked "Please step out of the car and show me."
So he got out with the machetes and started juggling them, first three, then more, finally seven at one time, overhand, underhand, behind the
back, putting on a dazzling show.
Another car passed by. The driver did a double take, and said, "My God. I've got to give up drinking! Look at the tests they're giving now!"
